Product Information
SYSTEM CAPACITY:
Systems are available with up to 10 MHz single channel analog bandwidth and up
to 256 Mbit/s aggregate bit rate.
All systems are capable of full Record and Replay Synchronization to provide
multi-recorder systems with very high channel and bandwidth capacity.
All systems are capable of recording to and/or replaying from integral media
and/or functioning as real time front-end signal conditioners/multiplexers with
PC platforms.
MEDIA CAPACITY:
Our systems use AIT2 tape, AIT3 tape, solid state
flash memory (drives and PCMCIA) or hard disk drives. The capacity of recording
media is continually increasing, allowing extended record times, even when employing
high total bandwidth. Media type and capacity is system and configuration dependent.
Typical of our systems are data capacities from 4 GB through to at least 72 GB,
giving duration from 2 hours (at 4 Mbit/s) through to at least 160 hours (at
20 Mbit/s) for a single media unit. Higher capacities are available, including the use of external RAID media.
All systems automatically optimize the media duration, consuming media at a rate
directly proportional to the aggregate input data rate. No "speed setting" is
required.
CHANNEL CAPACITY:
Built-in signal conditioning channels are
available with up to 10 MHz channel bandwidth and up to
160 Mbit/s channel data
rate. All analog channels have independent analog to digital converters.
SIGNAL INTERFACING:
All system mainframes contain slots to receive modular signal
conditioning interfaces. These interfaces can be installed in any combination
and quantity within the mainframe limits. Signal conditioning is available for
a huge variety of sources including voltage, icp, strain bridges, charge coupled
devices, automotive buses, aviation buses, communications buses, microphones,
video, serial and parallel asynchronous and synchronous digital data, with and
without clocks.
DATA ANNOTATION:
Accurate and user friendly data annotation is a must for subsequent data search,
validation and analysis. Mainframes have built-in signal interfaces appropriate
to the application for sources such as voice, time, GPS, frequency counting (order
tracking) and asynchronous serial data. All system mainframes have built-in IRIG
time code generator/reader/search systems.
DATA FORMAT
Our Airborne, Ground Station and Telemetry products can all be specified
to record and/or replay data in the IRIG106
Chapter 10 format in addition to the Heim D-3 packet recording
format provided as standard. Systems fully compliant with the specified
hardware, interfacing and other aspects of IRIG106 Chapter 10 are also
available.
POWER SOURCES:
Our systems use various standard voltage AC and DC power sources dependent on
model and application. Airborne systems can have optional integral battery back
up to insure predictable and uninterrupted operation during power switching,
surge and loss.
SOFTWARE:
All systems are supplied with the PC/Windows compatible FTrans application
that provides full remote control, configuration and signal visualization through
an intuitive graphical user interface. Optional extensions to FTrans provide
digital file transfer from the record media direct to PC. FTrans can produce
a wide selection of generic, industry standard and proprietary file types compatible
with popular display and analysis packages.
