Heim Data ANNOUNCES D5000 SERIES WITH ENHANCED SIGNAL MODULE CAPABILITY
Ideal for Acquiring PCM Telemetry, Avionics Bus and Sensor Data
Heim Data, Inc., a leading supplier of data acquisition equipment, offers its D5000 Series with Enhanced Signal Module Capabilities for the acquisition of video, PCM and avionics bus data. Featuring compact, high channel capacity signal interface modules, the D5000 Series provides highly flexible configuration solutions that can easily adapt to changing requirements in airborne and mobile applications. Designed to be extremely compact, lightweight, and rugged, the economical single-box D5000 Series systems are utilized for PCM telemetry, avionics bus and sensor data acquisition in non-benign environments.
The D5000 mainframe has three signal module slots that can accommodate any combination of the D Series signal interface modules, including Analog, MIL 1553, PCM, ARINC429, Ethernet, Voice, Serial, Parallel, Video and others. The D5000 range is enhanced with new high channel capacity signal interface modules that can be used to configure up to 75 channels in a single mainframe. Automatic built-in test and monitoring facilities ensure that all interfaces are correctly calibrated and operating normally with a minimal amount of operator intervention.
The new Video Module can record data from up to four NTSC/PAL/SECAM sources together with four audio channels. The MPEG-2 digitization and compression employs selectable maximum data rates offering the user a wide choice of data bandwidth and picture quality. Each PCM module can now record and replay up to eight data streams with each input channel having independent configuration and data rates up to 20 Mbit/s. The MIL-STD-1553 module can record up to eight dual redundant busses. Together with existing interfaces for analog, serial digital, parallel digital and avionics busses, they provide accurate and reliable solutions for acquiring data from evolving sensor sources using Heim airborne and ground based recorders.
Complete with an integral 10 MHz reference clock and IRIG time code reader/generator, the D5000 Series with Enhanced Signal Module Capabilities can also synchronize to external IRIG and GPS time sources. Fully synchronized channel sampling and packet recording functions ensure high resolution, high accuracy time tagging and consistent channel-to-channel phase relationships for any interface configuration. These systems are compatible with both Heim data format and the IRIG106 Chapter 10 standard. The user has permanent access to configuration and control functions through front panel controls, backed up by remote control available through integral computer and discrete contact interfaces.
The D5000 Series with Enhanced Signal Module Capability will provide a digital recording replacement for both legacy tape based video and avionics data acquisition systems, combining both functions into an economical single box solution with greatly enhanced management and correlation of the data during analysis.
