Heim Data DIGITAL FLIGHT RECORDERS PROVIDE SUPERIOR FLEXIBILITY FOR AIRBORNE AND MOBILE APPLICATIONS
Heim Data, Inc., a leading supplier of data acquisition equipment, introduces the new D20f and D200f digital flight recorders. With modular signal interfacing and interchangeable media cartridges, the D20f and D200f provide highly flexible, modular solutions that can easily adapt to changing mission requirements in airborne and mobile applications. Designed to be extremely compact, rugged and economical, the D20F and D200f are ideal, single-box systems for PCM telemetry, bus and sensor data acquisition in non-benign environments, such as flight tests and military vehicles.
With up to 20 Mbit/s total system data rate for the D20f, and up to 200 Mbit/s total system data rate for the D200f, these record and/or reproduce systems employ media in interchangeable cartridges, allowing the user complete freedom of choice between tape, rugged disk and solid state drives, at any time during the life of the equipment. Media can be exchanged in seconds, providing flexibility to optimally match the media to each individual mission, also insuring superb support capability and security.
The media cartridges use a standard SCSI interface that allows the system to act as a front-end multiplexer to any other external media drive having compatible protocol. A compatible range of rack mounting ground reproducers provides rapid access to reconstruction and/or download of the recorded media cartridge data.
The user has permanent access to configuration and control functions through front-end panel controls, backed up by remote control available through integral computer and contact interfaces. Bright alphanumeric displays provide confidence-boosting, real-time information about the I/O signals and the system.
The mainframe has 6 signal module slots that can accommodate any combination of the existing and future D Series signal interface modules, including Analog, MIL 1553, PCM, ARINC429, Ethernet, Voice, Serial, Video and others. Depending on channel type, up to 48 channels can be fitted. The D20f and D200f are complete with an integral IRIG time code reader/generator, and can also synchronize to external IRIG and GPS time sources. The packet recording system ensures accurate time tagging and consistent channel-to-channel phase relationships irrespective of signal type. Systems compatible with the pending IRIG106 Chapter 10 data format standard will be available.
